ol Donyo Lodge is located on private land amid the Chyulu Hills, between Kenya’s Tsavo West and Amboseli National Parks. The Relais & Châteaux-member property is honed from ancient lava rock that once spewed out of Mount Kilimanjaro some 360,000 years ago, effecting a timelessness apparent to everyone who visits. Otherwise, ol Donyo silkily blends contemporary design with references to the Maasai’s rich culture.

All seven suites look out over their own plunge pool to rolling plains that extend all the way to Kilimanjaro in Tanzania. Above each are also stunning starbeds, wherein you can sleep out under an astral canopy and listen to hunting hyenas and lions.

ol Donyo vigorously embraces its community heritage, and its guides can take you to a nearby village offering authentic experiences. Additionally, you can walk, cycle, horse-ride or drive around the conservancy, later returning to high-quality meals.
