Campi ya Kanzi is an award-winning boutique eco-lodge in southeastern Kenya’s Chyulu Hills – which feature in Ernest Hemingway’s Green Hills of Africa. For more than 20 years, it was the only luxury lodge on a Maasai-owned reserve spanning 283,000 acres of pristine wilderness.

The volcanic Hills bumps are covered in a rich green cloud-forest,  home to a distinct array of trees, flowers, insects, birds and mammals. This special, sacred Maasai land supports immense biodiversity, with the locals including zebra, giraffe, antelope and such apex predators as lion and leopard.

  • Its owners founded the Maasai Wilderness Conservation Trust, which works to protect East Africa’s legendary ecosystems and astounding biodiversity via conservation efforts that directly benefit local Maasai communities.
