Romancing The Senses
Days 1-2 Days 2-5 Days 5-7 Day 8

Days 1-2

Upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, you will be met and transferred to The Emakoko lodge for an overnight stay. The journey takes approximately 45 minutes, following the highway before crossing through Nairobi National Park. This drive, complete with beautiful scenery and an abundance of plains game, makes a superb way to start any East African safari.

THE EMAKOKO
Positioned on one edge of the park, this boutique lodge has five luxuriously-appointed rooms in its main building plus a further five built into the cliff-face above. A funicular lift serves these and their fine views; all 10 chambers include a private veranda for dreamy gazing. What better way to start a holiday by supporting the conservation of this unique area and, in particular, of endangered black rhinos, which are prolific in this park?

Days 2-5

After breakfast, a transfer will have you at Nairobi’s domestic Wilson Airport ready for a scheduled flight to the Lewa Conservancy departing at 10:20 am. Arriving about an hour later, you will be met and transferred (20 mins) to Sirikoi, your home for the next three nights.

SIRIKOI
A passion for wildlife and commitment to conservation and community development is at the heart of Sirikoi’s philosophy. Here they don’t just talk about conservation; they live it. Surrounding the small lodge, and directly supported by it, is one of the world’s most iconic and successful wildlife projects. The Lewa Wildlife Conservancy not only protects wildlife species but also directly enriches the lives of communities in this area.

There are four luxury tents whose private decks look out onto the surrounding wetland and animal-rich waterhole, plus more private four and six-person houses with their own decks and dining rooms

Days 5-7

Return to the Lewa Airstrip after breakfast for a scheduled flight to the Masai Mara’s Ol Seki Airstrip, departing at 09:35. Reaching the Mara at around 11:00, you will be met by someone from Mara Nyika Camp and driven for 40 minutes to the property – although wildlife sightings are common, so you might happily be slower!

MARA NYIKA CAMP
Guests staying at Mara Nyika can explore a private, 50,000-acre paradise – the second largest conservancy in the Greater Mara region. Named using the Maasai word for “coming together”, Naboisho Conservancy represents 500 local landowners who united to establish it.

Designed to sit unobtrusively below a canopy of umbrella-thorn trees, its light-coloured canvas suites offer unforgettable views out over the plains. Walkways from the guest suites to the main area evoke the feeling of a treehouse, while the camp’s ethic and inspiration are one of exploration and adventure. Privacy is the key to Mara Nyika Camp. As they say, privacy is the key here – privacy to live, think, explore, be romantic and be pampered – amid one of the most spectacular backdrops that Africa can provide.

Day 8

Depart Mara Nyika Camp after breakfast, driving back to Ol Seki airstrip for your scheduled flight to Nairobi. This departs at 11:00, arriving at Wilson Airport at approximately 12:15. You’ll be met by a Cottar’s Safari Services representative and taken to a nice restaurant of your choice for lunch (at cost). Afterwards comes the opportunity to explore some of the city’s highlights, before dinner (also at cost) and a transfer to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your flight home.
