Conservation at Their Core
Days 1-4 Days 4-7 Day 7-10 Day 11

Days 1-4

Upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, you will be met and escorted to Nairobi’s domestic Wilson Airport. Your private charter flight will depart at 10:20, arriving at Lewa Main Airstrip about an hour later. There you’ll be collected by someone from Borana Lodge and driven for 45 minutes (unless wildlife sightings slow you down!) to the property, your beautiful home for the next three nights.

BORANA
Borana is steeped in history and style. Located deep inside the Borana Conservancy, Kenya’s newest and most successful rhino sanctuary, it’s set on a beautiful hillside to provide far-reaching views, and additionally boasts wonderfully organic design. Established in 1993 as one of East Africa’s original boutique eco-lodges, Borana has since been the prime economic driver enabling this conservancy to safeguard vital habitat for endangered species.

Days 4-7

After breakfast at approximately 11am, you will take a private chartered flight from Borana’s airstrip onto Segera’s airstrip courtesy of another private charter. Memorably crossing the vast Laikipia Plateau, this flight will take approximately 20 minutes.

SEGERA
By dropping fences and reopening migration corridors, Segera has reverted a working cattle ranch back into a thriving wildlife-conservation area. Alongside lions, leopards, cheetahs and hyenas, there awaits extraordinary birdlife and many rare and endangered species including Grevy's zebra, patas monkeys and even wild dogs. More elephants migrate through each year, as drama regularly unfolds on the 50,000-acre estate. After dark, you’ll hear the roar of a male lion, the melancholy whoop of hyenas or zebras anxiously yipping. There is nowhere quite like it.

Segera includes an original farmhouse, secluded master suites and six thatched villas positioned in landscaped, botanical gardens and centred around a vast swimming pool with outdoor baths, ensuite bathrooms and private decks.

Day 7-10

After an early breakfast, depart Segera airstrip at 08:00 on your private, 20-minute charter to Nanyuki Airport. You’ll then connect with a scheduled flight departing for the Masai Mara at 09:15 and landing at the tiny Keekorok Airport at around 11:00. Enjoy a scenic, animal-rich drive as you journey for 90 minutes (or more) from Keekorok to Cottar’s 1920 Camp, your next base.

COTTAR’S 1920S CAMP
Our 1920s Camp provides the romance of safari under cream-coloured canvas tents – the bygone style of safaris’ golden age while, at the same time, supplying amenities required by modern-day travellers and professional guides whose qualifications rank among the highest in Africa. Run by the continent’s first and longest-running safari family owners, it embodies the original, romantic spirit of adventurous African travel.

As well as representing vintage safari luxe at its best, the award-winning camp also boasts its own 7,608-acre private conservancy and is situated just one kilometre from one of Earth’s natural wonders: the Masai Mara National Reserve and, across the border in Tanzania, contiguous Serengeti region.

Day 11

Depart from Cottar’s 1920s Camp after breakfast and drive back to Keekorok Airport for a scheduled flight to Nairobi. This departs at 11:00, arriving at Wilson Airport at approximately 12:15. You’ll be met by a Cottar’s Safari Services representative and taken to a nice restaurant of your choice for lunch (at cost). Afterwards comes the opportunity to explore some of the city’s highlights, before dinner (also at cost) and a transfer to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your flight home.
